What Are All on 4 Dental Implants?

All on 4 is a revolutionary dental implant technique in which a full set of upper or lower teeth can be attached to and supported by just four dental implants.

Both traditional implants and All on 4 involve fitting small titanium screws inside the jawbone to replace the roots of missing teeth. However, traditionally to replace a full arch of teeth required up to eight implants and treatment could take as long as one year to complete. All on 4, on the other hand, uses precise positioning and angling of the implants to allow Dr Spyrakis to attach a full arch of teeth almost immediately after surgery!

After having All on 4 treatment, you’ll be able to eat and speak normally, you’ll facial aesthetics will be restored, and your jawbone structure will be preserved. And, as All on 4 are easier to clean and maintain than removable dentures, your overall oral health will benefit too.

What Are The Advantages of All on 4 Dental Implants?

All on 4 implants offer some significant advantages over traditional dental implant techniques:

  • Less invasive – All on 4 implant placement avoids areas of reduced bone density in the mouth, often preventing the need for additional procedures such as bone grafting and sinus augmentation.
  • Faster healing – the strategically-placed implants allow high torque values on insertion, meaning that your implants can be immediately fitted with your permanent fixed teeth instead of you having to wait for months for the implants to fuse with your jawbone.
  • Suitable for more cases – traditional implants require significant work for those with reduced jawbone density and in complicated cases aren’t possible. All on 4, however, can help patients who haven’t previously been able to have implants.

Before and After

How Much Do All on 4 Implants Cost?

It’s not easy to compare costs for All on 4 treatment as there are several elements that influence prices. If you’ve been researching how much it costs, you may have noticed a discrepancy in prices with procedures ranging anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000.

When considering costs, and choosing a dentist, the scope and type of treatment will have an influence, but so will the quality of the procedure. Many licensed dentists appear to have all the necessary qualifications. However, there are a few key factors that influence both the price and quality of the treatment they can offer:

  • null

    Education

Dental surgeons need to have completed the right training to make sure they can provide comfortable and long-lasting treatment.

  • null

    Materials

Dentists need to use high-quality materials that will be both durable and natural-looking if you are to achieve the desired results.

  • null

    Experience

Dental implant experts should have a huge amount of experience with a variety of patients to be able to treat any case.

When it comes to dental implants, you get what you pay for. It’s important to not pay above the odds but equally important that you have the right treatment if you are to achieve the desired results.

    FAQ

All on 4 treatment is no more painful than any dental implant surgery. In fact, as there is generally less preparatory work needed and the surgery is far less invasive, any discomfort will be minimised.

Your level of anaesthesia is down to you. You can either choose a local anaesthetic or sleep dentistry. Sleep dentistry helps to manage any anxiety or discomfort you may have and, while you’ll be conscious, you won’t remember the treatment taking place.

The procedure usually takes around three to four hours to complete.

You will have your final fixed teeth as quickly as 24 hours after your All on 4 implant surgery. They’ll be fixed in place by Dr Spyrakis at a short, 30-minute appointment.

We’ll plan two to five follow up appointments for you with Dr Spyrakis to ensure your implants are healing and any problems are easily resolved. After that, it’s a case of continuing a good oral hygiene routine and making regular visits to the dentist.

All on 4 implants are designed to be extremely long-lasting. As long as they are cared for properly with an appropriate oral hygiene routine, they could well last a lifetime.

While the implants can be made of a variety of biocompatible materials, the most common is titanium. Meanwhile, replacement teeth are made from either resin or porcelain. Porcelain is more durable and is recommended for dental implants.

The cost of All on 4 implants varies according to personal circumstances and the type of replacement teeth you choose. However, at Sydney Implant Studio, the price generally ranges from $18,000-$29,000.

We understand that All on 4 dental implants are a significant expense, and the upfront cost can be too much. To help manage the cost, we can offer payment plan solutions. You can also pay for the treatment with your superannuation fund. We can provide details about this at the implant consultation.

All on 4 implant costs are dependent on the dentist’s level of education, their experience performing the treatment and the materials that they use. Dr Spyrakis is one of Sydney’s leading All on 4 specialists with many years experience and a dedication to continued education in the field of implant dentistry. By choosing Sydney Implant Studio, while the cost may be higher than elsewhere, you are buying specialist treatment, the best quality materials and all-important peace of mind.
